Pink velvet smoothie

Electric colour! Isn’t it gorgeous? When I first made this smooth and drank it, I felt this warm fuzzy glow in my heart, the colour alone just lifted my spirits!

The thing I loved the most about this smoothie was the beetroot and purple cabbage! It’s filled with such goodness and rich nutrition but without the ‘veggie’ taste. The flavor was like nothing
I’ve had before. It tasted like it looked!

All the super foods made it magic and so sustaining. One of the new super-foods I am loving right now, is Macqui berry. Said to be the highest anti-oxidant of the fruit family. Maqui is touted as a natural remedy for various health conditions, including arthritis and high cholesterol. Maqui is purported to protect against some forms of cancer (such as colon cancer and a number of inflammation-related diseases (including diabetes and heart disease).

Some say it may can help support weight lose, slow the ageing process, promote detox and stimulate the immune system.

Lucuma is also something going into most of my smoothies, raw chocolate and bliss balls. It is a fruit from Sth America that’s taste has been described   like maple or caramel in flavor. It provides 14 essential trace elements, including a considerable amount of potassium, sodium, calcium, magnesium and phosphorus. Like Macqui it is known for it’s anti inflammatory and anti ageing properties.

Makes = 1200ml

½ cup boisonberry (blueberries, raspberry) fresh or frozen
6x lg strawberries, fresh or frozen
1 cup purple cabbage, roughly chopped
1 sm-medium beetroot, roughly chopped
2x medium banana’s, fresh or frozen
1 tbs macqui or acai powder
1 tbs lucuma
1 tbs mesquite powder
2 tbs hemp oil (only recomended if you live outside of Australia)
1 vanilla pod
300ml filter water
1x orange, skinned
if you like things sweet  - add 1-2 coconut necter or agave syrup but try it first!

If you have a high-speed blender, place all the ingredients in it and blend until smooth & velvety! Pour into glasses and drink with lace gloves and pearls! It’s divine!
